After a long time in the Volvo world, the owners of 128 Volvo are closing down their business. We are honored that Volvo Cars North America has directed us – as the Volvo dealer with the 2 nearest locations – to take over and serve the loyal customers of 128.
With Volvo Cars Danvers a short 10 miles north of Wakefield, and Boston Volvo 20 miles south, we have 2 award-winning locations ready to help out.
It is a time of transition around here when it comes to Volvo dealers. Many of the dealers who along with us pioneered Volvo in Greater Boston – 128, Stutz, South Shore, Dalzell, Lee, Farrell – have moved on after jobs well-done. We are proud to still be serving Volvo customers, and look forward for being of service for many decades to come.
We were quite surprised and extremely dismayed to learn about the abrupt closing of 128 Volvo. We always felt that that their service and staff were excellent — far surpassing that of other auto dealerships we have dealt with over the years. I currently have a 10-year old Volvo xc90 which I love, but going forward, I honestly have no idea what I will now do for current service and ultimately a new purchase in a few years. Driving into Boston for service is inconvenient, and as for Danvers being a “short 10 miles north of Wakefield”? That can only be considered a frequent traffic nightmare, and would turn what was always a quick and extremely manageable trip for service into an enormous scheduling annoyance, and a descent into what is often a miserable traffic nightmare. I know I sound cranky, but I’m most definitely not happy.
Just to clarify – 128 Volvo closed because the owners retired from the business. Traffic and congestion in our area is always a challenge, but we hope that you give us a chance to earn your business up in Danvers.
You should’ve never coached the Lakers
Different guy, much taller than me. Don’t worry, we all wear green here during the NBA season!
My Volvo was totaled around 2012 and I brought it to 128 Volvo and they fixed, but now I want to transfer ownership of the car to my grandson, but insurance company is requesting that I bring the car to the state police to get it inspected and they’re requesting proof of work, receipts. Where would I be able to get it
We may be able to find a summary of the work done, but the detailed repair records would have to come from the old dealership. There is a new business at the old 128 Volvo dealership, but some of the people from 128 still work there, so they may be able to locate the repair records for you.
Would be nice if they gave long time customers a notice!!!!! Shabby business!!!
We didn’t have any control over how 128 Volvo wound down their operations, but we would be happy to welcome you over to Volvo Danvers.
