We don’t often write about our competitors in this space, but recently we came across some interesting news. In the US in September, the percentage of Toyota’s sales which came from electrified vehicles (hybrids, plug in hybrids, battery electrics) was 48%. Two years ago that number was less than 20%.
Toyota sells a lot of hybrids, and there is probably a point not far off in which all Toyotas sold will be at least a hybrid.
For a company as large as Toyota, that’s a very big deal.
